I really wasn't sewing

This is the actual fabric. Isn't it amazing the difference? I really want most of the blue to be in the lower left corner. I have other blocks to go there, just not enough room. I am not real sure what size or what type of borders that I will put on this piece. Right now, it just has to simmer.
I almost forgot!!! The Bra's are coming to Columbia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited about this. A gallery exhibit in the Vista area of downtown Columbia, S. C. Fantastic!

That's it for now. I'll be on retreat with Just Stitchin' Thursday to Sunday, so you won't hear from me. I really doubt that I will have a post until sometime next week. So, have a good week or two and stay tuned for more news.

I'm workin' on it !!!
I'm workin' on getting ready for Spring Quilt Camp . I have finished the "Welcome Gifts" :
They are in this bag. This had been fun and is something that I have never done before. That is one thing about Just Stitchin', it has really tested my computer skills. I have learned so much in the past few years.

I also worked on something for our Saturday night "doo". All of that is in this box:

Thursday night is always a good get acquainted night with lots of show and tell. Friday night is usually something fun going on with even more show and tell. Saturday night is a special night for Just Stitchin' and there is always even more show and tell.
Can you tell that I am really gearing up to go "to camp?"
However, I am going to cook supper----Bad, bad Fried Chicken with rice and bad, bad gravy. So much fat, so much cholesterol, soooooooooooooo good.
Have a good week.

Short Weekend
This has been one short weekend for me. I have not worked on Baby Jane, but will catch up later. I have spent 2 days in class with Joan Durlak of http://www.figureflatteringquiltwear.com/ . The Quilted Pearl sponsored her for 2 days and they were packed with information. I have been working on the pattern for Midnight Glacier. This is a time consuming project. Pictures when I get some.
Sherry tells me that the Just Stitchin' website will be re-done soon and we will be ready to register for Fall Quilt Camp. Can't wait.
Have a good week.

The Hurrieder I Go; The Behinder I get
I am actually posting things that happened last weekend. I am now 3 blocks behind on my Baby Jane, but hope to catch up next weekend.
Tori has been over here helping Dick clean up our back yard. We actually have not done any work in this yard for several years, so they have a lot to do. I know that Dusty has to be glad that his sister is in one of her "hyper" moods as this has certainly taken alot of stress off of him. Dusty helps us with construction and has been a life saver many times with the construction of the porch, the shed, the studio. We probably would still be working on the shed if it were not for his help.
While Tori has been working with Dick, I have had a really good helper in the studio.
I don't think there is a Grandmother, among quilters, out there that can turn down the request: "Grandmommie, can I sew?" I certainly couldn't, so Piper spent a few minutes at the machine on my lap so that she could sew a seam or two. I was also working on a Baby Jane Block, K-8 Springbrook Park, and Piper helped with several seams in the block. Everytime that I finish a block I use my Pigma pen and write on the back : my name, the number of the block, and the date it was done. On this block I also added Piper's name. Now, how special is that?

This is the block that we did. I really hope to catch up next weekend, even though we have a very special wedding on Saturday night.

If I don't catch up by then, oh well, I WILL BE ON VACATION!!!!
I can't decide what to do. I know that a trip to Mary Jo's in on the list. I need to pick up some 30's repros for my Baby Jane. I would like to do some type of shop hop through southwestern North Carolina and the upper part of South Carolina. I am also interested in looking at some possible retreat sites for Just Stitchin'. So, if you know of any interesting shops or possible retreat sites, let me know. Pat will be with me and we are pretty much open to any ideas.
Tomorrow is a Guild Workshop for Devine Quilters. We will be working on some "Love" Quilts. I hope to have some pictures for you later in the week.
Have a great weekend.

Baby Jane Goes to Palm Key

Yep, I was with Just Stitchin' last weekend and we went to Palm Key. To see more about our trip check out the Just Stitchin' blog.
These are the blocks that I completed last weekend. I am just posting them all in one picture. The blocks in the upper left hand corner and the lower right corner were the assigned blocks for last week. Anina had suggested paper piecing some of these blocks for accuracy. I can't believe I didn't think of that--Thanks Anina--- you saved me hours of time. Now I have lots of blocks printed out to paper piece. Love the EQ Dear Jane program. Probably wouldn't be doing this without it.
I also completed another applique block that I was working on, so I will post that at a later time. I am spending my time this morning preping the two assisgned blocks for this week. I have to attend a 3 day dental meeting this coming week, so, maybe I will get a chance to work on them. Would you believe that my machine is still in the truck and will go to the meeting with me. Since I don't 'party' I should get several blocks done while I am gone.
Have a great week.

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, it is Friday and I am still home following some surgery.
I have given up and started my own Blog. I am not sure how this works, so it will really be a learning experience for me. I hope to share some of the work that I am doing with my quilts and share the experiences during retreats with Just Stitchin'.
I have not yet figured out the posting of pictures, but, will get to that shortly.
Have a great day!
