Catching up Again

Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with Kathi Gainey of Shakerwood Quilts . She is really trying to convert those of us in the South to WOOL. Can you imagine? I had a wonderful class with Kathi and this is what I did: This is a wonderful needle holder for my applique. There is a pincushion on the inside along with pockets for my scissors, seam ripper, and needle threader. Way to go Kathi.

While I was away at retreat my husband attended an event to raise money for Harvest Hope Food Bank.  Before I left I gave Mr. One Loose Thread specific instructions regarding a piece that was available for auction that evening. I wanted it. He got it for me--along with lots of other stuff that I didn't plan on.(Note to self---NEVER send Mr. OLT to a fund raising auction alone.) The piece is one of the Garden Patch Cats (pattern by Kelene Knott). This piece has been renamed Cecil Celery and was done by my sister, Pat Whittle. Pat doesn't DO applique. Not even fusible applique. Welllllllllllll let me tell you, she did a fantastic job on this piece and I feel priviledged to have it in my collection. Thanks Pat and Mr. OLT.

A side note:
There are still some spaces available for 'Think Spring' Quilt Camp. If you are interested send me an email and we can talk about it.

Hope you have a great week,

Cathi does really pretty things with her wool, and just having the wool and all its softness is a wonderful thing. Your needle book looks wonderful. Hey - I was at retreat too!
