I posted these pictures on my other blog for Just Stitchin' Retreats. Currently I am getting ready for Fall Quilt Camp that is next weekend (Thurs-Sunday). I hope to have some organization to this mess by this afternoon. The process takes several days and I forget from one time to the other what needs to be done.
Our last event was in April and somethings needed to be reworked for this one. I also needed a new mouse for the laptop, a new printer(the other one died), and a few other goodies for our surprise that we have planned for the weekend. During Spring Quilt Camp we always have a mystery quilt that those who want to can work on. But for Fall we just try to do some "little"(and I stress little) project that doesn't take much time and can be serious or silly. I think we have just the thing this time.
If you look very closely you would be able to see what the project might be--Good Luck!!!
You might also see some of the goodies that folks will win over the course of our get together.
What you won't see is all of the fun that we will have. We laugh, we cry, we get silly, we get serious. It is amazing how renewing these weekends are. When I get home on Sunday I will be exhausted but in a good way.
I'll post many pictures after we return. Have a good week. Stay safe.
PS. That is Patches the cat checking out the studio. I wish she knew how to catalog books. My library is running over.

Alzheimer's Day-September 21
Ami Simms has asked that we remind you of this terrible disease. I went to this site and made my alzheimers ribbon. I have not had anyone in my family that has been stricken with this horrible disease, but, I have patient friends that have been. Go make your ribbon, it's important.
Let's all work for a cure.

Baby Jane is 6 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Baby Jane is really growing. She is 6 months old!!!
This first block is E-9 Quilt Jail. It was fun to piece. Again, we paper pieced this block.
It is amazing to me that I am 6 months into this project and the progress that has been made is because of Anina and her hard work on these blocks. Thank you Anina.
For those of you that say you could never do this, you are wrong. I have not hand stitched any of these blocks, with the exception of the applique blocks. Everything is being done on the machine. I am using the Dear Jane software, and it has been invaluable. I am also using the Dear Jane rulers (tools), the square and the triangle.
This triangle is RS9 (Right side 9th from the top) Danish Delight.
I have also decided that as I make a block or triangle that I will cut a plain triangle for the border out of the fabric that I use for the block. That way, I won't have so many to do at the end of this project.
I still haven't decided what I want to use to sash these blocks, so I haven't started doing any of that.
Now that I have my assignment complete for this week I can work on a Christmas present. I really need to complete the quilting on one of those quilts.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you affected by hurricane Ike. This is one BAD storm. Stay safe.

Jam Packed Weekend
Would you believe that this is the center block of Jane's quilt? Now it is the center of MY quilt. As you may notice the corners are a little short, so, I may have to remake it. I think that I will leave it as it is for now.
I have caught up again so that I hope that I can stay up to date.

When I look at this picture it looks as though my sister Pat is assisting Piper. Well, it isn't. It is me. Piper was here with her mother yesterday and she was telling Tori that she was using a little iron. Well, she was. I had been doing some paper piecing and was using my little hand iron. She knew exactly what it was and educated her mother to that fact.
This is what I was paper piecing. Boy what a block!!! It is called Pot Holder. Go figure. What a challenge.
Busy time coming up. Devine Quilters will be hosting Scott Murkin tomorrow night for a lecture. I really look forward to this. He has been known to work with miniature blocks, so, I know that he has to be nutty.
Quilt Camp is getting closer and I really need to get to work on the "surprises" that we have in store for our campers. I also need a theme for our Saturday night supper.
Hope everyone has a good and safe week.
