Spring !!!!!!!!

Spring has really arrived in South Carolina. This is absolutely beautiful weather. I do so love where I live.

The garden has been planted. This is the first time we have tried an actual garden. I have grown stuff in pots and water troughs, but we have never actually set up a vegetable garden. Well, now we have. Mr. LT has planted beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, onions, eggplant, cukes, lettuce, various herbs, corn, watermelon, cantalope, and garlic (as soon as it arrives).

As you know I have DOGS. One DOG especially loves tomatoes. He doesn't waste them he actually eats them. Guess who that might be?

That would be the innocent looking one on the right in this picture. Actually, this is from last spring. He is now 100 lbs and not so innocent. It must have been all of the tomatoes he ate last year.

Since Rocky and Jake have the run of the yard, we decided that we would use the old dog pen for the garden. It has been at least 10 years since the last dog lived in there, so Mr. LT and the children (grown ups) tilled and cleaned it out and it has now been planted. If you look closely through the screen in this picture, you can see where I am talking about in the back corner of the yard. We have had loads of fun getting all of this prepared and planted. Now to water, weed, and watch it grow. I'll post some pictures later.

Have a great week,

Where Does Time Go?

I cannot believe how long it has been since my last post. Where does time go? Since our last correspondence I have been to the Cobblestone Quilt Show in Charleston.

If you have never attended one of their semi annual shows---DON'T MISS THE NEXT ONE!!

Dick (Mr. Loose Thread) actually drove to Charleston with me for the day. We really enjoyed looking at all of the quilts. We also saw some amazing machine quilting in these quilts. South Carolina has some very talented quilters.

This is a quilt by Judy Heyward. It won Best in Show. As usual, her work is absolutely amazing!! Of course we had to eat while in the area, so we motored over the beautiful Cooper River Bridge to eat at RB's Seafood. Add to that the fact that we absolutely had to bring home some of their famous Crab Dip!!!!!!!! Sooooooo good.

The Quilters of South Carolina also had their Spring Meeting at the famous Newberry OperaHouse, in Newberry, S.C.

Laura Wasilowski was the featured speaker for the event. She was fantastic!! If you ever get the chance to take a class of have a lecture with her, then do it. You will really enjoy this lady.

I also had the chance to eat dinner with a few of my favorite people.

We had the best food and a fantastic evening. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!

That's it for now.

More exciting news later and more news about One Loose Thread Quilting and Summer Fun Quilt Camp for 2010!!!!!!!
It's AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
