FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!!!

This is all that I did today. Just think 4 leaves. For some reason the day just 'flew' by and I don't think that I really got much done. I was hopeful of getting the entire block completed. Didn't happen. I am sooooo far behind.
Happy Halloween to everyone.
Have a great week!!

I'm on a diet!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Rocky here, I went to the Vet today. Dr. Erin is really very nice, it was not a bad trip except for one thing, I weigh 97 pounds!!! Now, that wouldn't be bad except that I want to live to be as old as Jake (15 years) so Dr. Erin has put me on a DIET!!!! I have to loose down to at least 80 lbs, but she thinks that 70 would be better. I haven't weighed 70 lbs since I was 18 months old!!! This is really going to be tough. Please talk to mom and convince her that I cannot survive on the amount of food that they are going to be giving me !!

This is Mom. Not only does he weigh 97 pounds, his chest measures 38 inches around and he is 3 years old. Rocky is not actually fat (we have never over fed or given him lots of treats),  he is just HUGE. However, he has also been in the house laying around for the past few months, no exercise, so we are going to try to help his body out with a new diet and some daily exercise. Dr. Erin tells us that Rocky might not even live to be 6 or 8 years old if we don't get his weight down. Keep your fingers crossed that this works. It will be good for Rocky, and Dr. Erin will be checking his weight every 2 weeks to make sure that he is doing OK on this diet.

Sunday Fun and New Price List

First:
New pricing sturcture has been posted on the Quilting Service Page.

Now for the latest news:

I spent today putting this together. Still have the three rows on the left to go. This is a pattern called 'Strip Stacks' and published by G. E. Designs. I am doing this very scrappy. the background is the only 'stable' color in the entire project. I also ordered a blue backing for this project. As soon as it arrives I can put it on the frame and quilt it. This will be the last of my Christmas presents to complete. So far I am pleased with the outcome of this project.

I do hope that everyone has a good week.

GREAT DAY TO BEAD

I spent today with some of my friends and attending a terrific beading class. JoAnn and Dee did a fantastic job with a 'beginner' beading class. It was sponsored by Devine Quilt Guild and was held at the soon to be missed Quilted Pearl. JoAnn and Dee were very patient with all of us and I really learned some new 'stuff'. This will serve as a sampler of stitches that I can refer to when trying to come up with ideas for different projects.

Now, to spend the rest of the weekend working on Christmas presents for the Grandchildren. I have 2 quilts down and one to go. I am working on it now so, it should not be much longer until it is ready for the frame.
Hope that everyone is having a good weekend.

Fabulouse Friday !!!

I will be leaving soon to set up the quilts for 'Under the Tent 2010'. I am really excited about this event. The "Frayed Knots" of One Loose Threads went all out and contributed so many quilts for this cause. So many in fact that some are being saved for the event in 2011. 'Under the Tent' is produced by the 'Friends of Gravatt' to raise money for camper scholarships and improvents to the camp and conference center. I'll let you know how the evening goes. There will be both a live and a silent auction------better take my credit card.
Have a great day,

Catching up Again

Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with Kathi Gainey of Shakerwood Quilts . She is really trying to convert those of us in the South to WOOL. Can you imagine? I had a wonderful class with Kathi and this is what I did: This is a wonderful needle holder for my applique. There is a pincushion on the inside along with pockets for my scissors, seam ripper, and needle threader. Way to go Kathi.

While I was away at retreat my husband attended an event to raise money for Harvest Hope Food Bank.  Before I left I gave Mr. One Loose Thread specific instructions regarding a piece that was available for auction that evening. I wanted it. He got it for me--along with lots of other stuff that I didn't plan on.(Note to self---NEVER send Mr. OLT to a fund raising auction alone.) The piece is one of the Garden Patch Cats (pattern by Kelene Knott). This piece has been renamed Cecil Celery and was done by my sister, Pat Whittle. Pat doesn't DO applique. Not even fusible applique. Welllllllllllll let me tell you, she did a fantastic job on this piece and I feel priviledged to have it in my collection. Thanks Pat and Mr. OLT.

A side note:
There are still some spaces available for 'Think Spring' Quilt Camp. If you are interested send me an email and we can talk about it.

Hope you have a great week,
