What's Up??

I thought that you might like to see some of our Jacket Class from Last weekend. The class was for 2 days and was sponsored by the Quilted Pearl in Columbia.

This was our instructor, Joan Derylak, of Figure Flattering Quiltwear

We had a great 2 days. We are all doing Bargello Jackets. Some Slant Bargello and some Straight Bargello.

Joan made sure that we had patterns altered to fit each of us. With her method of pattern making we can make any type of jacket from our base pattern. Her "stuff" is so pretty to see in person and the jackets are not bulky like so many jackets that I have seen.

Here Joan is fitting Mary so that her Jacket will fit perfectly.

This is what I have done so far. The back has 2 pieces. These are not sewn together yet.

I hope to work on Baby Jane this weekend. Piper is visiting the Studio today and tomorrow is a swim event at my brother's house, so might not get much done. Anina will be taking a few days off so that will give me some catch up time.

Dick and Tori are working on the Screened Porch. We are down to the final caulking and painting. Soon it will be ready to furnish. This project has only taken a year and 6 or 7 months. Dick does say that it will be finished by Christmas.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Short Weekend

This has been one short weekend for me. I have not worked on Baby Jane, but will catch up later. I have spent 2 days in class with Joan Durlak of http://www.figureflatteringquiltwear.com/ . The Quilted Pearl sponsored her for 2 days and they were packed with information. I have been working on the pattern for Midnight Glacier. This is a time consuming project. Pictures when I get some.

Sherry tells me that the Just Stitchin' website will be re-done soon and we will be ready to register for Fall Quilt Camp. Can't wait.

Have a good week.

Catching up with Jane

This first block is A-2 One-Two Buckle My Shoe. Paper pieced and done. 40 pieces.

The purple block is D-10 Battlefield. Also paper pieced with 42 pieces.

This Orange block is A-1 Pinwhell Gone Awry. More paper piecing. 28 pieces to this block.

These blocks make my Jane Signature

Amazing how this is growing.

I have been using Carol Doak's paper for these blocks. I really love this paper. I have been using it for my miniatures also and it really works well for me.

I have a 2 day class next weekend, so I am not sure I will get back with Jane until the next week. My class is a Jacket class with Joan Derylak. I have been waiting a few years to take this class, so I am very excited. I will take pictures!!

As of this posting, blogger is not letting my signature come through. Don't know what the problem is, but I hope it works itself out.

I hope that everyone has a good week. Stay safe. Joyce

To Wii or Not to Wii

I have spent the weekend looking for a Nintendo Wii. Why would I want one?

I think that these three answer that question. However, I want it for ME!!! too. I have fun playing with these three with their games. Wii bowl, Wii play tennis, Wii play golf. It is amazing how well these three can play these games. Sooooooooooooo, we MUST have a game set. I gave up and just ordered it on line. Hopefully I will have it in a few days. I understand that they have an exercise session that can be added later, so I might get that too.

Aren't these three good looking grandchildren? They were all dressed for Aunt KK's wedding a few weeks ago. The girls were flowergirls and Austin was the official "Keeper of the Crayons and Guardian of the Coloring Books". I was so proud of them.

This was how my family looked for KK's wedding. A pretty good looking group don't cha think?

I have been working on my Baby Jane. I will up load those pictures later today. For now though, I have completed another block for my "Quilting in The Garden" top. This makes 2 down only 7 more to go.

That's all I have for this morning. But, more later. I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend. It sure is a "short" one. Back to work tomorrow-yuk.
